At Granny McQueens, we pride ourselves in tradition and authenticity. Our values are shaped by the pursuit of excellence in producing traditional Scottish confectionary. We aim to please even the most discerning of palates in decadent gourmet sweets. Every quality product at Granny McQueens has been ‘hand made’, true to our traditional recipes and ensures our products give an authentic taste experience. The ‘Shining Star’ of our range is Traditional Scottish Tablet. Scottish history recounts tales of Tablet back to the early 18th century. For most Scots, it is their favourite sweet and is as much loved today as it was decades ago.
Granny McQueens History
A taste of tablet is a mouthful of decadence . . . Crumbly, Buttery,
Sweet & Irresistible.
I have found that Tablet has the ability to reconnect one with the past. A simple taste can evoke wonderful memories of childhood . . .
. . . memories of Granny’s kitchen . . . of family gatherings . . . of good and simple old fashioned cooking. Granny McQueen was my maternal Great Grandmother. I was raised on stories of her cooking genius. Her culinary gifts brought magic to life in a humble kitchen where she would take simple hearty ingredients and create food fit for the most discerning of tastes. As a young woman she worked in the kitchens of a stately home and several years later graduated with her skills to continue her love of cooking to her own growing family. Through my mother’s wonderful stories . . .
Granny McQueen has been a vivid presence in my life. She beautifully imparted a deep appreciation for cooking to my mother. In turn, my mother’s recount and love of the Granny who raised her, has left a lasting impression on me . . . She has been my inspiration. A Tangible Legacy, passed down through generations . . .
Instills in me today a deep value for Tradition . . .
Mostly for the value of how that translates into joy. Cooking from the ‘heart’ for others, . . . is in part giving a portion of oneself.
After all . . .”The kitchen is the Heart of the Home”
